Buyer Terms & Conditions

1. Platform role

We provide a listing and discovery service only. We are not the seller, broker, payment processor, escrow provider, or delivery agent. Every transaction is directly between you and the individual seller. We do not guarantee item condition, authenticity, availability, legality of items, or that a seller will respond.

2. Your responsibility

• Verify items in person before paying when possible.
• Meet in safe, public locations; never share banking passwords or send irreversible payments to unknown parties.
• You are responsible for complying with local laws, taxes, and import rules.
• Report suspicious or illegal listings to us — we may remove content but are not obligated to investigate every dispute.

3. No warranties

LISTINGS AND SELLER CONTENT ARE PROVIDED BY THIRD PARTIES. THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT ACCURACY OF DESCRIPTIONS, PHOTOS, PRICES, OR SELLER CONDUCT.

4. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YARD DEALS AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS, INJURY, FRAUD, OR DAMAGE ARISING FROM YOUR DEALINGS WITH A SELLER, YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM, OFFLINE MEET-UPS, OR ANY ITEM YOU PURCHASE OR INSPECT — INCLUDING INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.

You do not pay Yard Deals CAD $50. That figure is a legal liability cap, not a fee. Because we are only a listing board (we do not sell items or hold your money), if a court ever found us liable for a buyer-related claim about the Platform itself, our total liability would be limited to CAD $50. Purchase disputes, refunds, and item problems remain between you and the seller.

5. Release

You release the Platform and its operators from claims arising from disputes with sellers, failed transactions, misrepresented goods, or personal injury related to meet-ups or item use.

6. Privacy

When you contact a seller via WhatsApp, phone, or email, you share information directly with that seller. Our collection and use of technical data is described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Changes

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the marketplace after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated version shown on this page.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Saskatchewan, Canada. Disputes with us are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Saskatchewan, except where prohibited by applicable consumer protection law.
